Mexican Fruit Bars

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 large can crushed pineapple
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions:

Combine all ingredients.  Bake in a 9×13 inch pan at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

Frosting:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 oz. cream cheese
  • 1/2 stick margarine
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Frost while warm.  Sprinkle with chopped pecans.  Cut into bars.
